It was brought to our attention late this afternoon that there was an asbestos disturbance in a cleaning closet involving floor tile at the Walter B. Howard Elementary School. The area has been isolated, but out of an abundance of caution we are going to close the elementary school building tomorrow, Friday, October 2nd. This will give us an opportunity to have the appropriate asbestos contractor mitigate the situation. We will also work with an environmental contractor to conduct air monitoring during the cleaning. Tomorrow will be considered a virtual day. We ask that the elementary students follow our typical Wednesday virtual schedule.
There is no impact to classes at the Jr.Sr. High School.
