Use of Masks Still in Effect at Schools, Despite NYDOH Changes

At a press conference earlier this week, Gov. Cuomo announced that the New York State Department of Health would be adopting the CDC’s revised guidance on mask-wearing for fully vaccinated individuals for most businesses and public settings. While the new guidance allows for fully-vaccinated individuals to go without a mask in certain situations, please note that there are some important exceptions: pre-K to 12 schools, public transit, homeless shelters, correctional facilities, nursing homes and healthcare settings (see full details). We ask that all students, staff and visitors continue to wear masks when on school grounds or during athletic events, regardless of your immunization status. We will continue to keep you updated as new developments arise, and we thank you for your continued efforts to keep our community safe and healthy.
