Students of the Week

Shawn Pawlows – 8th grade

Shawn PawlowsShawn has quite the funny side and has been showing a lot of improvement in class lately. He also enjoys several extra-curriculars, including soccer, basketball, and chorus. Shawn is not afraid to ask questions in class and is almost never absent from school, which is a great thing to see. All that combined with his high level of responsibility make him a great choice for student of the week! Way to go, Shawn!

Jane Orme-Ouch – 7th grade
Jane Orme-OuchJane has been chosen because she is such a polite and helpful young lady in class. She works hard to complete her classwork and homework, and does well academically because of it. She is outgoing and involved in several extra-curriculars at school, including helping with concession stands and participating in music. Great job, Jane! Your positive presence and hard work are appreciated!

Jasper Priest – 7th Grade

Jasper PriestJasper Priest is one student who always has a smile on his face, and has a sense of humor that makes everyone else smile. He is helpful to others, polite, and shows himself to have responsibility and a great work ethic. He is a member of the junior choir, and was an important part of the modified soccer team. We are proud of you Jasper!

 

Katie Wallace – 8th Grade

Katie WallaceKatie Wallace is really finding her place in the middle school scene. She is a polite and kind young lady both to teachers and to her peers. She is hard-working, has great work habits, and is makes it a point to go to teachers for extra help when she needs to. She is a frequent spectator at games of her friends, and will be soon be on the basketball team. Way to go Katie!

 

Emma Blatt

Emma BlattEmma Blatt is a prime example of what is means to be a responsible student with a great work ethic. When she is absent, she actively goes to all teachers to make sure she understands everything she missed. The next day, she is all caught up again. Wow! This year Emma was one of the powerhouse servers on the modified volleyball team. On the court and off, she is a team player, who is helpful to those who need it. Great job Emma, keep up the good work!

Henry Miller

Henry MillerHenry Miller is a well-rounded student who excels academically as well as in the many extra-curricular activities he is involved in. Henry participated on the modified soccer team, and is getting ready to begin basketball next season. He is a trombone player in the junior band. One thing noted by all the middle school teachers is that Henry always is polite and mannerly to others, as well as being on top of his work. What a great addition to our school Henry is!

Daniel Truax

Don TruaxDaniel Truax is a welcome member of our middle school community. He is polite and respectful to adults and peers, and always has a positive attitude. He was chosen as a student ambassador this year because he is helpful and is always more than willing to help others. His work and study habits are stellar. He is an active member of the Boy Scouting organization, plays clarinet in the band, and is an important member of our Future Cities club. Great work Daniel!

Jacob Weaver

Jacob WeaverJacob Weaver is a kind and caring young man. He is helpful to others, and in the elementary school was the mastermind behind a fundraiser to help homeless animals. He is an avid reader, and has a perseverant outlook and a great work ethic. He soon will be a member of the New Lebanon swim team, and is an active member of the Boy Scouting organization. Way to go Jacob!

Calliroe Barlow – 7th Grade

Calliroe BarlowCalli Barlow is a welcome new member of our New Lebanon Junior High community. She is a willing helper for teachers and peers alike. Her work is always done, and done well. Speaking of being a helper, she has been learning how to score and monitor the lines for the volleyball team while waiting for basketball season to begin. She is a member of the Future Cities team, an officer of her class, and plays bass clarinet in the band. What a versatile young lady!

 

Kassidy McGivern – 8th grade

Photo of Kassidy McGivernivernKassidy McGivern has had a great beginning to a new school year. She is happy, cheerful and is always ready to help others in the classroom. She has done some really creative work in her classes so far, creating an “exponent hotel”! She is an important part of the NL modified volleyball team, as well as the softball team in the spring. She shares her beautiful voice with us at chorus concerts. We are very proud of her!

Jaden Tompkins – 7th Grade

Jaden has really gotten involved with the middle school scene; he is a choir member, was elected as president of the class of 2021, and is a member of the Future Cities team this year. What a great addition to our school Jaden is!

 

Brianna Shuhart – 8th Grade

She is also involved in many extra-curricular activities.  Brianna participates on the modified soccer team, as well as playing in the band. She was a member of the National Future Cities team last year as well as this year. She is well mannered and is a good friend to all. Way to go Brianna!
