New Lebanon Jr/Sr High School Spanish teacher Kara Siciliano has been selected for WNYT Channel 13/SEFCU’s “Top Teacher of the Week” segment. The piece aired during the local news on Wednesday, March 12.
Ms. Siciliano joins the ranks of just over a dozen teachers in the region who were all chosen in advance following a nomination period this previous fall.
News Channel 13 education reporter Elaine Houston visited the high school with a camera operator on February 26 to interview Ms. Siciliano and observe one of her classes. She also sat down with a few of her students to get their perspective on what makes Ms. Siciliano such a special teacher.
A banquet for the 13 Top Teachers is planned for May, during which the honorees will receive special prizes from SEFCU, which sponsors the annual program with WNYT-TV.
