New Lebanon Jr/Sr High School Social Studies Teacher Jennifer Allard was named “Outstanding Social Studies Classroom Teacher for High School” by the New York State Council for the Social Studies (NYCSS) during their annual convention at the Albany Hilton on March 29.
During the convention, Mrs. Allard also co-led a workshop that assisted social studies teachers in aligning their current lessons and materials to reflect Common Core practices. Mrs. Allard represented the district and the NYSUT Social Studies Committee.
Mrs. Allard has worked at the New Lebanon Jr/Sr High School since fall 2005. She was hired as a middle school social studies teacher and worked with middle school students until the fall of 2012, when she transitioned to 11/12th grade.
