NL Jr/Sr High School teachers receive tenure

On September 10, four teachers from the New Lebanon Jr/Sr High School received their tenure status. These teachers include David Nunsen, Michelle Davies, Kelsey Norburg and Maureen Squire. Congratulations to you all!

David Knudsen – Global History, Grades 9 and 10
Having only been part of the New Lebanon faculty for a short time, David Knudsen has established effective relationships with his students and fellow staff members. Last year, 94 percent of his students received a proficient score on the Global Studies Regents. Knudsen is also an advisor for Drama Club.

Michelle Daus – Introduction to Foods, Advanced Foods, Family and Consumer Science, Business Law
Michelle Daus offers quality programs in Home and Careers subjects and Business Law. Her Appetizers Anonymous club allows students to prepare meals for the community. Several of her students have graduated from New Lebanon and moved into culinary careers.

Kelsey Norburg – Technology
Kelsey Norburg teaches high-quality and relevant technology programs. She teaches topics such as graphic communication, design and drawing for production, architecture and robotics. Many students in her courses have become interested in careers in technology. Norburg is also an advisor for Drama Club

Maureen Squire – Library Media Specialist
Maureen Squire is responsible for the redesign of the Jr/Sr High School library and has turned it into a place where students want to be. She works regularly with teachers on research and keeps online databases current. Squire assists with proper citation and provides book talks for new titles.
