Family Holiday Letter 2021

Dear Families,

I want to take the time to wish you and your family a very happy holiday. I hope you are able to spend some time doing what you love with your family and friends. We are certainly living through some often unbelievable times, but we are lucky to have our New Lebanon community.

I want to thank you for your patience and understanding as we will continue to work together through this pandemic. As a parent, I sincerely understand the challenges to raise a child during this difficult time. As I write this, my children are currently quarantined due to a COVID exposure and will continue to be so throughout the holidays.

I want to let our community know that we are committed to keeping our schools open for in person learning. We want to do everything possible so that we are not forced to transition to remote learning.  After the holiday break we will need our entire community’s support to keep our schools open:

  • Please  do not send your child to school if he or she is not feeling well. If your child is not feeling well we ask that you make sure they receive a COVID test before you send them back to school.
  • If your child is exposed to someone who tested positive for COVID please follow DOH’s quarantining procedures.
  • Please keep in touch with your child’s school nurse after the break (remember our nurses will be taking some well deserved time off this break)
  • Most of our school quarantines occur because of the school bus.  If at all possible, drive your child to and from school (I understand this is not always possible)
  • Here is to a healthy and happy holiday and we look forward to working with you all in 2022.  Remember the first day back to school is Monday, January 3rd. Stay safe.

Very Fondly,

Andrew Kourt
Superintendent
