Jeffrey Rock and Vincenza Deschamps. Congratulations!

On Friday, November 23, all students at Walter B. Howard Elementary tallied their reading log sheets to see if they reached their school-wide reading goal of 60,000 minutes. They surpassed their goal reading a total of 61,257 in just two weeks. The prize? Principal Andrew Kourt dancing to “Whip Nae Nae.”

According to Principal Kourt, providing students with a goal to work towards, students are more enthusiastic and excited to read. By reading books that are “just right” for them, they become better readers.
