Sixth grade students at Walter B. Howard Elementary School attended the “The Mystery of the Albany Mummies” at the Albany Institute of History & Art on January 8.
“This was a great field trip to attend because it incorporated both the Art and Social Studies curriculum,” said Michelle Schrader, art teacher. “In Art class the students had just completed their clay sarcophagus and in Social Studies they were learning about Ancient Egypt Culture.”
Students first received a tour of the exhibit and then completed an art project of making a “Ushabits.”
“The students did a great job at listening attentively and using their creativity,” added Mrs. Schrader.
The exhibit runs through June 8, 2014.
