BNL Track & Field WASAREN Championships Coach Recap
The BNL Girls Track and Field team finished 4th, just 2 points shy of 3rd, and the BNL Boys Track and Field Team were 11th at the WASAREN Championships last night. The girls 4×800 relay team of Allura Meizinger, Sadie Giumarra, Brady Hills and Elsie Corbett won 1st and continued their drive for the states dropping their time further down. Sophie Ericson placed 3rd in the discus and met the state qualifying distance. Tallulah Powers was 6th. Gabe Kalisz had a great night kicking to a 2nd place finish in the 3200 and grabbing 4th in the 800. Elsie Corbett splashed her way to 3rd place in the steeple chase and 5th in the 1500. Nora Colin was 3rd and Matt Kluck was 4th in the triple jump. Lora Acquario got her best height of the season earning 4th in the pole vault. Sadie Giumarra and Allura Meizinger finished 4th and 5th in the 400 with Allura grabbing 4th place in the 800. Sectionals are May 26, next Thursday, these finishes bode well for the track team in the coming weeks. -Coach Burhans
