Update to High-Risk Winter Sports

Dear Community,

Today I received notice from the Columbia County Health Department that our county is currently not resuming high risk sports due to the high COVID positivity rate in Columbia County.  In order to resume high risk sports in our district, the DOH is requiring our county’s seven-day rolling average positivity rate to be 4% or below. At this time, Columbia County has one of the highest positivity rates of any county in the Capital Region.

I want to publicly thank the director of Columbia County Health, Jack Mabb and his team at DOH for their leadership, collaboration and hard work throughout this pandemic.  Columbia County DOH has worked tirelessly with all of the Columbia County School Districts with the goal of maintaining the safest school environment for our students, faculty and staff.

I promise to keep our community updated on athletics as we progress through the school year.

Thank you for your support and commitment to our school community.

Fondly,
Andrew Kourt
