BNL Varsity Baseball & Softball Coach Recaps 4/10-4/20

  • BNL Varsity Softball vs Hoosick Falls 4/20
  • On Saturday, the BNL Varsity Team competed in the Charlie Weeden Memorial Tournament at Hoosick Falls. The girls first faced Hoosick Falls and were able to successfully get on base, put runners in scoring position, and have learning moments. This carried them into their next game against Cambridge where our gloves and bats came alive. BNL was the first to score during inning one, and they kept their momentum going into the second inning when junior Lilly Gardell crushed a two-run over the fence homer! 7th grader Ava Sandstrom had a hard hit line drive to the outfield to add to the total. Amazing defense plays were made by senior Lizzy Hunt with a catch to hold the tied score, while Jaylyn Harmon continued to work to put pressure on Cambridge to put the bat on the ball. Harmon finished the game with 7 strike outs. While the outcome wasn’t what we’d hoped, our girls played a full game with a final score of 14-5. The girls have a busy game schedule this week, finishing the week up with a home game on Saturday against Waterford. Great job, BNL! Keep the momentum up! -Coach Giglio
