BNL Coach Recap 1/31: Girls Modified and Varsity Basketball

BNL Girls Modified Basketball vs Cambridge
Girls Modified Basketball traveled to Cambridge with the boys modified on Monday night. We started off running our offense well, but not getting shots off. We ran a defensive zone for the first time. Cambridge was able to get an early lead on us until we settled in. Even with a well executed press in the fourth quarter, we weren’t able to close the gap and we lost by 2 buckets. Emma Shorter got the layup and sank the “and 1” for 3 points. Anna Ward was high scorer with a bucket and a 3. Lilly Meyers and Morgan Sharpe each contributed a bucket. Player of the game was Izzy Bink. We face Hoosick Falls this weekend.
BNL Girls Varsity Basketball vs Heatly
After 3 days rest, the girls’ Varsity basketball team hosted a non-league game against a small but fierce Heatly squad. It all came together when the BNL ladies dominated in the fourth quarter. McKenzie Krause hit double digits again, scoring 12 and Lilly Gardell had an outstanding 4th quarter dropping in 4 buckets and finishing the game with a total of 10 pts. Sophie Ericson, Nora Colin and Hannah Mace rounded out the scoring helping to seal the deal with a 31-25 victory. The girls travel to Emma Willard today.
