Letter from Principal Kourt to WBH Families

Dear Families,

Winter has really crept up on us.  I want to wish you and your family a very happy and restful Thanksgiving holiday.  I am very thankful to be part of this wonderful community.  Thank you for your support and sharing your child with us every day.  I want to take this time to review our outdoor recess policy and some upcoming events….

Outside Recess:

It is our goal to get our students outside as much as possible during the winter months.  Children will be going outside as long as the temperature is above 20 degrees, if it is not raining/sleeting, or icy.  Please make sure your child is prepared with a winter jacket, a hat, gloves, boots, and snow pants (when we have snow to play in.)  Your child is more than welcome to leave a pair of snow pants or boots in school if it is easier.

When we have indoor recess some classes will have access to the gym when possible and others will take part in hands on activities.   Thank you for your support!

Our readathon was a huge success today.  I am proud of our students for reading over 40,000 minutes over the past two weeks.  Each classroom met their goal of reading at least 3,000 minutes at home.  This meant that 28 pies were thrown at me today.  All in the name of reading!!  Keep reading…..

Thank you for your continued support!  Happy holidays…
