New Lebanon CSD 2016-17 School Budget Approved

The New Lebanon Central School District $12,554,205 budget was approved by a vote of 149 (yes) to 12 (no) on May 17. This budget represents a $120,546 decrease in spending over the current year’s budget and will result in an estimated 0 percent tax rate increase for residents.

Residents also elected Timothy Lambert (146 votes), Sharon Putnam (149 votes) and Raymona Griffin (write-in candidate with 8 votes) to three-year terms, and Janet Stone (write-in candidate with 7 votes) to a two-year term to the Board of Education.

“Thank you to everyone who came out to vote today. We are grateful for the support of our community,” said Superintendent Leslie Whitcomb. “This budget is fiscally responsible to our tax payers, while keeping students as the focus, as we continue to strengthen education programs for all students.”
