WBH Principal’s Update 10/7-10/11

Dear Families,

I hope you had a great weekend.  We have a very busy and exciting week planned ahead at WBH.  I want to take this time to keep you updated on some of our exciting happenings…

Tomorrow, Tuesday, October 8th is school picture day at WBH.  The photographer from ISmiles will be here in the morning. All ordering and package information will be done on-line this school year. Look for an ordering code that will come home with your child.

Each year, our students in grades 4-6 complete a two-week swimming unit at our Jr/sr. High School pool.  Our 5th graders first day of their swim unit will be this Wednesday (we are backing the unit up a day due to school pictures).  A big thank you to Tim Christiansen (high school PE teacher) for helping to make this opportunity for our students possible.

On Thursday, The New Lebanon Fire Department will visit our school for Fire Prevention week.  We will have an assembly for grades K-2 and then one for 3-6.  Please use this as an opportunity to discuss fire prevention and safety at home with your family.  If your family needs a home fire alarm, please give us a call at our main office.

Lastly, on Friday, October 11th guest author Eric Litwin will visit our school.  Mr. Litwin is the original author of the popular children’s book “Pete the Cat.”   We are incredibly fortunate to have him visiting our school.  This would not have been possible without our wonderful PTA.  I would like to invite families to attend one of the school assemblies.  The PK-2 assembly will take place on 10/11 at 8:45 – 9:40 and grades 3-6 at 9:45 – 10:30. I hope to see some of you there.

Finally, please consider joining our wonderful PTA.  Our next meeting is tomorrow, Tuesday, October 8th at 6pm in the WBH library.

As always, I appreciate your support and dedication to your child’s education.  Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions.

Fondly,

Andrew Kourt
WBH Principal
