One-Hour Delayed Opening on Thursday, February 11

Dear Families,

The New Lebanon Central School District will run on a One-Hour Delay on Thursday, February 11th….

As part of phase 1B of New York State’s COVID vaccination program, school faculty and staff who are interested are eligible for the COVID-19 vaccination.  As a district we have been working hard to help our faculty and staff who are interested find a vaccination as soon as possible. Around fifty of our teachers and staff will be getting their second and final vaccination on Wednesday or Thursday of this week.  While this is very exciting news, you may have heard that there may be some short lasting side effects after receiving the second vaccine.

As a district, it is our goal to maintain our in-person learning program on Thursday and Friday of this week.  While some will be out of the classroom to receive their vaccination, others may be out sick due to side effects.  Being that we will not know what faculty and staff will be out on Thursday, we are going to need time to make arrangements to make adjustments to schedules and find coverage for those who are unable to teach. To help with this planning, the New Lebanon Central School District will run on a One-Hour Delay on Thursday, February 11th.  There will be no preschool program on Thursday, and all outside placements and Questar programs will run as normal.

We appreciate your understanding during this unprecedented time.  Together this school community can accomplish anything!

Fondly,

Andrew Kourt
Superintendent of Schools
