New Lebanon Jr./Sr. HS to Transition to Four Day a Week Schedule

March 16, 2021

Dear Families,

I am pleased to be able to announce that we will be transitioning to a 4 day week for all grades (7-12) beginning Monday, March 22nd.  All in-person students will be reporting Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday for the remainder of the school year.  Wednesdays will remain remote learning days for ALL students.

It is important to know that students will continue to be distanced 6 feet from one another in their classrooms.  To accommodate this, certain classes will be relocated to larger spaces in the building.  We will work to help students understand these changes throughout the school days ahead.  Masks will continue to be worn and all existing COVID protocols will still need to be followed.

Families who have chosen to continue with the full remote learning option are now committing to remaining remote through the end of the school year.  This is due to the effect that a single child can have on a room’s capacity to hold a class with desks separated by 6 feet per state guidelines.

I am encouraged that we have found ourselves moving toward normalcy after a year of constant fluctuation (and frustration).  We all look forward to having the majority of our student body back in our hallways.  Traditional school has been missed by everyone here!

Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,
Matthew R. Klafehn
Jr./Sr. High School Principal
