Meet Acting Part-Time Business Manager Lee Bordick

Where are you from?

I grew up in Northeastern Pennsylvania graduating cum laude from the University of Scranton with a B.S. degree majoring in Biology and Chemistry and a minor in Philosophy. I received my Masters Degree and Certificate of Advanced Studies from SUNY Oswego. Completed doctoral level coursework in Educational Administration at SUNY Albany.

What is your background-previous job(s)?

I taught Earth Science, Chemistry and Biology at Liverpool High School in Central New York. I was the Principal of Catskill Middle School  and the Assistant Superintendent at Lansingburgh Schools. I was appointed Superintendent at Lansingburgh serving for 22 years in that position. After retirement, I was an adjunct faculty member at St. Rose. I also served as Interim School Superintendent in several local area school districts over the past ten years.

What are your interests outside of school?

Our family enjoys outdoor activities including sailing, golfing and traveling.

Why are you looking forward to working in the NLCSD?

I always admired the school district and the people that I know who work here. I know the Superintendent when he was an excellent teacher and it gives me great pleasure to work with him although for a short period of time.

Fun Fact:

Of all the different experiences that I have had in several school districts and working in different capacities, I am always asked about my relationship with Mike Tyson who was a student when I was the Catskill Middle School principal.
