Letter to the School Community from Superintendent Kourt

Dear Families,

It is with a heavy heart that I write you this message.  Our New Lebanon Central School District grieves for the families, students, faculty/staff and community of the Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas.  It is hard to believe such senseless and tragic events continue to happen in our country.  Please join me in keeping this community in our thoughts.

Please know that school safety continues to be our main priority in our schools.  We have a Columbia County deputy in our district throughout each school day and continue to maintain great communication with our Sheriff’s Department and State Troopers.  Our schools practice regular emergency drills and practice safety protocols on a regular basis.

As a school district we work hard to not only support our students academic needs but also their social and mental health needs.  Our school psychologists, school counselor, teachers, administrators, and staff are here to support each of our students.  If you find that your child is struggling and is in need of support please don’t hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher or principal. It takes a village to educate a child and know that your New Lebanon School community is here to support you.

Thank you for your support and dedication to our school community..

Very Fondly,

Andrew Kourt

NL Superintendent
