Student Council Gives Back by Creating Holiday Cards for Barnwell Nursing Home Residents

The members of New Lebanon Jr/Sr High School’s Student Council decided that it would be a wonderful opportunity to give back by creating Holiday Cards for the residents of Barnwell Nursing Home.

“For some people the holidays can be both a happy time and a lonely time,” said Student Council Co-President Christine Bienes. “We hope that we can offer some joy by creating cards that express our love for the season.”

  • Club Representatives:
    Caitlyn Williams and Galen McDonald
  • 12th Grade Representatives:
    Taylor Sikorski and Ryan Etue
  • 7th Grade Representatives: Natalie Zema, Gwyn Welsh, Makiyla Levy
  • 8th Grade Representatives: Lucy Burgess and Austin Esposito

Additional support was provided by Brandon Shufelt and Richie Young who helped assemble bags of cocoa and candy for the staff who are working on Christmas. The cards have been delivered so they can be distributed by the staff.

Student Council Advisor Michelle Lagonia added,” We have had so much fun creating these and we are looking forward to similar projects in the future.”
