As indicated in our correspondence over the weekend, the district was informed of a positive COVID-19 case within our transportation department. Out of an abundance of caution, both school buildings are closed until after Thanksgiving break. We will reopen for in-person instruction on Monday, November 30th.
November 16th, and Tuesday, November 17th will mirror a typical “Remote Wednesday,” where students are responsible for logging in to each of their Google Classrooms to complete work that has been assigned at their leisure. Monday will be an “A” day. Tuesday will be a “B” day.
Beginning Wednesday, November 18th, we will shift to our full Remote Plan, which operates on an alternate day schedule.

All students (formerly in-person as well as previously established remote students) will be expected to attend live Google Meets set up by their teachers based upon the schedule listed below. Meet invitations will be sent out from teachers to student accounts. Students will attend their regular class periods (1-9) in the time slots shown. Students are only responsible for the classes that they attend on any given day. For example, if a student is following an “Orange” Day schedule, they do not have to visit the Google Classrooms for courses that they will have on a “Black” Day. Daily and period by period attendance will be based upon student participation in these meetings. If a student has a study hall or a lunch during any given time slot, they are considered “OFF” for that period.
Morning (AM) Career Tech Students will continue to be bussed to the Rensselaer Educational Center so that they may participate in their regular programming. The New Lebanon classroom meetings will be recorded for their viewing if their Career Tech schedule fails to align with their availability.
We realize that the success of a fully remote program is contingent upon the availability of devices for EVERY student. Chromebooks will be available for student pick up on Tuesday, November 17 from 8:00-4:00 at the High School Main Entrance. We encourage families to make every effort to coordinate the receipt of these devices.
