Lead in Drinking Water Testing: 2025 Update
To ensure the health and safety of our students and staff, New Lebanon Central School District has completed the required water testing for lead in accordance with NY Public Health Law §1110 and 10 NYCRR 67-4.
We are in the final year of the 2023 – 2025 compliance period for the School Lead in Drinking Water Program. Testing is required at all outlets used for drinking or cooking. The lead action level was revised in 2022 to 5 ppb. Any result above this level must be addressed immediately.

Actions Taken
- Outlets over 5 ppb removed from service or labeled “Non-potable – Handwashing Only.”
- All handwashing sinks remain clearly signed.
- Remediation plans and follow-up testing scheduled.
- Bottled water and safe drinking alternatives provided as needed.
Notification & Compliance
Reports submitted to Columbia County DOH and NYS DOH via the HERDS system.
