The North Country Family and Community Engagement Center is offering several upcoming virtual trainings for families and caregivers.
All sessions are held on Zoom, there is no cost to attend, and registration is required.
A Zoom link will be emailed to registrants 2–3 days prior to each event.

Parent and Family Engagement in the FBA/BIP Process
February 25 | 9:00–11:00 AM
This session explains the purpose of a Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP),
how the process begins, and the role parents and caregivers play as part of the BIP team. -
What is an Individualized Education Program (IEP)? (For Families of Preschool Students)
February 26 | 10:30 AM–12:30 PM
Learn what an IEP is, how it supports your preschooler’s development, and how you can take an active role in the CPSE process.

Early Intervention (EI) to CPSE
March 4 | 10:30 AM–12:00 PM
March 17 | 10:00–11:30 AMThis workshop walks families through the transition from Early Intervention to CPSE and explains the differences between the two services.

Agency 101: Services to Support Students with Disabilities into Adulthood
March 10 | 9:30–11:30 AM
This session covers postsecondary planning, NYS agencies and community-based organizations,
and available services for individuals with disabilities. -
How to Foster and Support Self-Determination in All Students
March 31 | 9:30 AM–12:00 PM
Participants will learn strategies and tools to promote self-determination skills for students of all ages
using a collaborative school and family approach.
