Studio Art Students Visit the Clarke Art Institute

Photo of students looking at artOn Wednesday, April 6 Ms. Brooks brought studio art students to The Clarke Art institute in Williamstown Massachusetts. The objective of the trip was to learn about the museums new addition created by Japanese architect Tadao Andon. His minimal contemporary design juxtaposed to the classic architecture of the original museum created an interesting discussion.  Students also had a gallery talk on some of the current paintings on display, then each student chose the one they enjoyed the most and wrote an art criticism paper on the work. Student writings will be displayed at the spring art show on Tuesday, May 24. See more photos here.
