BNL Coach Recaps and Highlights 1/12/2022

Mountain Madness

On January 8, the BNL Booster Club sponsored the return of Mountain Madness, an all-day basketball event, with raffles, food and fun halftime contests.

Of the seven basketball games scheduled, five were played. The two BNL Modified Boys teams and the Girls Modified team played Hoosick Falls, the BNL JV Boys took on Mount Everett and the JV Girls played against Chatham.

Both scheduled Varsity games were cancelled on short notice, so a fun pickup game for varsity players took place in the evening.

Thank you to all who helped sponsor the event and to the many who donated raffle prizes to the BNL Booster Club. The event’s proceeds will benefit the BNL Cheer and Basketball programs.

It was a fun day with great food and prizes thanks to the many BNL Booster Club Volunteers: Kristi Culbertson (Booster Club President), Sherri Kellar-Willis (Booster Club co-Vice President), Jessikka Kreutziger, Michelle Corsey, Kaley Culbertson, Becky Pelletier, Penni Eggsware, Carrie Minkler, Candice Horton, Tammy Osterhout, Walter Bell, Corie Noel, Kim Collen, Stacey Ray, Nicole Radliff, Laurie Madsen, Malachi Ritter and Kianna Flavin.

Shout out to all who helping in making this event happen!

BNL Bowling vs Hoosic Valley 1/5/21

The BNL Bowlers earned a hard-fought victory last night at Hilltop Bowl vs. Hoosic Valley. After a 98 pin deficit to lose the first game, the bowlers bounced back to win the second game by 5 pins and the third by 98 to secure the 5 pin overall match win. Micayla Price led the charge in game 3; shooting the team’s best game of the day, and her new personal best, with a 163. Micayla finished with a 445, just behind fellow senior Danny Hunt who also had a 163 for a 449. Lane Moshimer also added to the senior highlights, rolling his new best varsity game with a 133. The team travels to Hometown Lanes today to face Stillwater and will then compete in matches on Monday and Tuesday next week. Great bowling and good luck bowlers!

BNL Girls Modified Basketball vs. Stillwater 1/5/21

Girls Modified Basketball traveled to Stillwater Wednesday night. Between injuries and illnesses, we were down to 5 strong on our B team and 6 strong on our A team. We played hard. We hit some amazing buckets, a few layups and drew the “and 1” a couple times. Both teams scored double digits. “B” team scorers were Allie Manchester and Emma Shorter with 4 points each and Isabella Ovitt with 2. Allie was the player of the game. “A” team high scorer was Lilly Meyers with 8 points. Charlie Young had 4 points and Lilly Vonschilgen and Morgan Sharpe each had 2. Lilly V was the player of the game. We will kick things off at Mountain Madness this Saturday.  We will play one combined team against 1 Hoosick Falls team at 9am.
