BNL Varsity Boys Soccer vs Cambridge Coach Recap 9/28
After a slow start to the game, BNL Varsity Boys Soccer found its rhythm when #10 Saviano put through a ball to #12 Shorter who blew past the back line and secured the first goal to his hat trick. Right before the half ended, BNL would string 4 passes from the sideline to the far side of the penalty box where #1 Healy found Shorter again for his 2nd goal of the game. Coming off halftime red hot, BNL pressed Cambridge to gain a corner kick. Shorter played the ball in and found #11 Buckenroth to make the game 3-0. The BNL back line again was stellar, only allowing Culbertson 6 shutout saves. With 18 mins left in the game Shorter put his 3rd goal in from a heel pass by #13 Hart. Beating the buzzer was #15 Chinchetru with a blast from outside the penalty box for an upper 90 goal assisted by Hart. The team plays next Tuesday, home against Saratoga Catholic @4:30! -Coach Burhans
