9/14 Coach Recaps & BNL Soccer Tournament Schedule

BNL Girls Modified Volleyball vs. Hoosic Valley High School 9/13

Modified girls volleyball kicked off their season last night against Hoosick Valley. First team started off slow and lost the 1st set 22-25. As we worked out the nervousness our serving came alive and we won the 2nd set 24-26. After that, we were on fire and killed the final set 17-25 winning that match. Layla Yerdon was awarded our player of the game

Second team came out of the gate ready to play and won their 1st set 22-25. We rallied back from a 6 point deficit but lost the second set 23-25. The deciding set had the girls playing some intense volleyball and trading points back and forth with Hoosick Valley. We fought hard but lost 23-25. After only two weeks together, these girls played like a true team. Haven Ramos was awarded our player of the game.

Both teams play Mechanicville on Wednesday 9/15 starting at 4:15 pm at home in Berlin. Masked and socially distanced spectators are welcome!

BNL JV Boys Soccer vs Tamarac 9/13

The boys JV soccer team lost a nail biter to Tamarac in their home opener 0-1. Kaleb Sweener got the start in goal and allowed only a redirected header in the upper 90 to get past him. He had 11 saves and did a great job directing his defense to clear out balls.  It was a total team effort moving the ball down field the entire 80 minutes and holding off a strong Bengal offense. The team travels to Waterford on Wednesday.

BNL Boys Varsity Soccer vs Tamarac High School 

A really fast back and forth game at New Lebanon High school.  Only one goal for Berlin-New Lebanon by Gabe Hart, but quite a few from Tamarac; two by Rocco Dicarlo,  and one each from Alex Ednie, Robbie Remington, Alex Bassey, and Justin Heinrichs.  Both goalies had some wonderful saves, on a really wet surface.

The BNL Booster Club still needs adult volunteers for Saturday 9/18 & a crockpot of Taco meat for Friday 9/17.
