The 2nd Annual Punk & Pantry Fundraiser
The 2nd Annual Punk & Pantry fundraiser, benefiting the NL Jr./Sr. High School “Just Food” Club, was held on Saturday, August 15 at the newly opened Shatford Park skatepark. It was a tremendous success!
An event highlight was a raffle for a custom skateboard featuring original artwork designed by NL High School student Corbin Southard.
Many more NL students played an active role in the fundraiser by preparing and serving food alongside local American Legion volunteers, who kept the grills going all day. Community members, including the New Lebanon Farmers Market & Grocery, generously donated food and drinks for the event.
The Punk & Pantry event featured a diverse mix of local vendors, artists and crafters, and live music from area bands including a first-ever live performance by a group of NL students, making the occasion especially meaningful for the young musicians and their supporters. Skateboarders and BMX riders from the surrounding area turned out in strong numbers to enjoy the festivities and support the cause.
Thanks to the generous participation of the community, the event raised more than $1,200 for the “Just Food” Club. These funds will help continue the club’s mission of providing meals and community gatherings including an annual Community Thanksgiving meal, a Memorial Day brunch with veterans, and other free events that bring the entire New Lebanon community together.
