Technology Committee Minutes

5/9/07

Present: Dottie Rogers, Ben Long, Matt Klafehn, Becky Vaillancourt, Shannon Hosier, Janet Haley, April Phelps

The following topics were discussed:

1. Minutes

a. Members approved the minutes from the April meeting.

2. Presentation-SynchronEyes-Brian Parker

a. Cancelled-needs to be re-scheduled

3. Parent Technology night

Will take place on May 22, 2007. Presenters are needed. Different topics were suggested. Shannon will make a few more contacts.

4. Software requests

a. Databases-trial databases are being E-mailed to the staff for previewing. Most trials only last 30 days. Presently, teachers are extremely busy so Shannon will only subscribe to a few databases at a time. Hopefully, during Regents week, teachers will be able to look at a variety of databases.

b. Orders-Due to great comparison-shopping there is still money for software. Please get orders in ASAP. The next requisition time for software will be October for the 2008-2009 school year.

a. Staff evaluation-teachers will preview and adapt the form

b. Technology Plan-will need to re-evaluated next year
