Technology Committee Minutes

5/10/06

Present: Dottie Rogers, Ben Long, Janet Haley, Anthony Vescio, Becky Vaillancourt, April Phelps, Matt Klafehn, Scott Paterson

The following topics were discussed:

1. Technology Software Inventory Survey-Shannon will update the survey form using the suggestions made by the committee. All members were reminded to take the survey on the Intranet. Creating a database for new software coming into the district was discussed.

2. Technology Conference

Shannon reported on the latest software information she received at the conference. Committee members were given a summary of the software programs that were demonstrated at the conference. Staff would like a Smartboard presentation.

3. Technology Plan

a. a copy of the plan was distributed to every elementary school teacher

b. discussed the evaluation of the plan:

i. decided to research Web sites, recommended by Janet, that might have the information that we need

4. Ordering

a. missing one software request at the elementary school-need to follow- up

5. Ideas, goals and prioritizing for 2006-2007

a. all software and hardware request forms will be distributed at the high school and elementary faculty meetings in June for submission by October 1, 2006.

b. forms will be distributed to all staff (guidance, bus garage etc.) before the end of the school year.
