Unofficial Technology Committee Minutes

Present: Dottie Rogers, Janet Haley, Anthony Vescio, Becky Vaillancourt, April Phelps, Cindy Hermann

The following topics were discussed:

1. Technology Software Inventory Survey and Database-Shannon updated the survey form using the suggestions made by the committee. All staff members will need to take the survey on the Intranet. A database plan for new software coming into the district has been implemented.

2. Technology Conference

Staff would like a Smart Board presentation. A presentation has been scheduled for Sept. 13, 2006. All faculty will be invited.

3. Technology Plan

Web sites, recommended by Janet, still need to be evaluated. Administrative permission is needed to log-on to certain sites. The committee will view them over the summer in addition to Web Monkey.

4. Community

The topic of adult education was introduced. Five teachers are interested in doing computer instruction. Mrs. Ackley has requested a proposal. Mr. Gabriel needs to be informed and then the planning process will begin.

5. Ideas, goals and prioritizing for 2006-2007

a. All software and hardware request forms were distributed at the high school and elementary faculty meetings in June for submission by October 1, 2006.

b. Forms were distributed to all staff (guidance, bus garage etc.) before the end of the school year for submission by October 1, 2006.
