Technology Committee Minutes

4/12/06

Present: Dottie Rogers, Ben Long, Pat Ackley, Shannon Hosier, Janet Haley, Cindy Herrmann, Anthony Vescio, Becky Vaillancourt

The following topics were discussed:

1. Website

a. Shannon will be working on updating the Technology link on the

Webpage.

2. Technology Plan

a. a copy of the plan still needs to be distributed to every elementary school teacher

b. discussed the evaluation part of the plan:

i. decided that the first step in the evaluation process is to inventory software

ii. decided to distribute two surveys-one for the elementary school and the second for the high school

iii. have to be able to identify the person taking the survey

iv. need to find out how often the technology is used (can use library logs)

v. need to access comfort level and skill level

vi. need to access innovative uses (what is working-what is not)

vii. have to divide survey up by sections: software-instructional vs. non-instructional and hardware

3. Ordering

a. all software requests have been honored

4. Ideas, goals and prioritizing for 2006-2007

a. all software and hardware requests will now be distributed in June for submission in September.

b. all areas of the school will be included in these requests (e.g. bus garage, office staff)
