Jr/Sr High Students Attend “Students Together Opposing Prejudice” Conference

Students attending STOP conference

A group of students represented New Lebanon Jr/Sr High School at the Siena College and Anti-Defamation League’s 2014 Student Leadership Conference “Students Together Opposing Prejudice (STOP)” on January 17. The event is an extension of the college’s Dr. Martin Luther King and Coretta Scott King Lecture series on non-violence. It was an opportunity for middle and high school students to work together to oppose prejudice and bigotry.

At this day long workshop, students met in small groups and were involved in discussions, activities and action planning with peers from across the Capital Region. Discussions focused on prejudice, tolerance and respect and how students can act as leaders with these topics.

Well done students!
