The winner of the Read for the Record competition was 11th grader Kayla Denue.  She read 14,639 pages in the eight weeks of the competition and won the grand prize: a brand new Kindle FireHD.  The 25 students who participated read over 48,000 pages.  The contest was open to all grades, 7-12.  The idea was to set the record this year and in coming years students will try to beat the record.  Students logged their pages via a Google form on the library webpage.  Library Media Specialist Mrs. Buckenroth said it was a lot of fun and I can’t wait to do it again next year.
