Meet SRD K.C. Bauhoff

Deputy K.C. BauhoffColumbia County Sheriff’s Deputy K.C. Bauhoff is the new School Resource Deputy (SRD) who began work in New Lebanon CSD in May. Along with helping to maintain a safe learning environment in both buildings, Deputy Bauhoff is active in the classroom as well, providing students with learning resources on topics like Internet safety, bullying, and drug and alcohol awareness.

“I have enjoyed getting to know our students and showing them that I am here to help,” said Bauhoff. “It’s important for young people in our community to have open lines of communication with police and see that we are here to help, listen and make a positive difference.”

Bauhoff has been a Deputy Sheriff for 11 years.  He is an instructor, with concentrations in firearms and active shooter.  He is also a member of the Columbia-Greene Shared Service Response Team.  Prior to becoming a police officer, he was an Infantryman in the New York Army National Guard and deployed to Iraq in 2004.  He enjoys spending time outdoors and teaches hunter safety.  He lives in Chatham with his wife Amber and their two-year old son Easton.

Deputy Bauhoff’s SRD services are shared between New Lebanon CSD and Chatham CSD, as part of an ongoing program implemented by Sheriff David Bartlett that provides SRDs to Columbia County public schools. This service currently comes at no cost to our school.
