Meet New Lebanon’s School Resource Deputy

Columbia County Sheriff’s Deputy Patrick McMahon has been assigned to the New Lebanon Central School District as the district’s first full-time School Resource Deputy (SRD).

Deputy McMahon was raised in the town of Ghent. He is a graduate of the Chatham Central School District class of 2001 and received his B.A. degree from the University at Albany in 2005. He is also a graduate of the 2014 Zone 14 Law Enforcement Academy and has previously worked for the Village of Chatham Police Department. McMahon has been a patrol deputy for the Sherriff’s Office for the past three years. He has received specialized training as a School Resource Deputy and has attended Juvenile Officer School. McMahon is a member of the CCSO Drone Team, and holds a certification as an emergency medical technician-basic.

Deputy McMahon looks forward to working with students and staff to have a chance to make a positive impact on the school community.
