The 2019 Junior Career Institute is a new opportunity that our incoming 11th graders can apply for (current 10th graders). This coming fall semester, student participants that are nominated and then accepted will attend four Saturday sessions at Columbia- Greene Community College to focus on career awareness, soft skills training and leadership development. These sessions will be interactive and include classroom instruction, guest speakers and one- on- one coaching. Guest speakers will include local high school and college graduates; local business owners and entrepreneurs; community leaders; and CGCC administrators and professors. Each student participant will be required to attend all four sessions, complete a Career Interest Survey and submit a resume. There will also be opportunities for a paid internship in the spring. At this time, those students that participate will have to provide their own transportation. Please see Mrs. Evans if you have any interest no later than Friday, May 10. All nominations will be submitted by the district to the Institute shortly thereafter.
