The Memorial weekend heralded in summer with hot sunny weather. Our students are preparing to finish their studies, take their exams and say good-bye to their teachers for another year. Students will relax over the summer and return in September refreshed for a new school year.
Our teachers will also relax but along with relaxing they will be starting to prepare for the new school year also. They will gather ideas, review new materials and some will take the opportunity to attend professional workshops.
Our cleaners and maintenance staff will be addressing their “to do” list. Refreshing the buildings with paint, cleaning every corner, and in many varied ways improving the learning environment of our students.
Our administrators meanwhile will be working on class schedules, completing hiring needs, attending a leadership seminar and starting (already) the budget for the next year.
I am looking forward to June 26th and the graduation ceremony for the class of 2010. This ceremony is the culmination of everybody’s efforts for the past 13 years and I am proud to be part of this celebration of our students’ accomplishments.
