New Lebanon Central School District

Lauren Borosky to take part in Scholars' Recognition Program

12th grader Lauren Borosky has been selected to represent New Lebanon in the Scholars’ Recognition Program.

Students were chosen based on scholarship, leadership and service to their school and community. Local grades, Regent scores and other formal measurements were also considered.

This program is intended to honor outstanding scholastic achievement by members of the graduating classes from area high schools. In addition, the program is intended to honor those teachers nominated by each student scholar for having had a significant and beneficial influence on their education. Borosky chose to honor Mathematics teacher Mrs. Corie Noel as the teacher who has played an influential role in her success at school.

The selected students and teachers are invited to the Scholars’ Recognition Dinner that will be held on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at The Desmond Hotel. The keynote speaker for this event will be the President of the University of Albany, George Philip.

The Scholars’ Recognition Program is part of the innovative business-education partnership formed by the School of Education at the University of Albany, State University of New York, to honor Excellence in Education.
